As national Bike to Work Days are growing in the US, it seems like many other organizations are jumping on board as well. Japan is known for their sea of commuters on bikes that can be seen in Tokyo, well it looks like they finally have their own Bike to Work Week from May 30 to June 5th being put together by the good people at Ecology Japan Bicycle. “American style” food and drink stations, repair service stops and sponsors will be set up during the week to help promote the event. The event is called 「バイクツーワーク」 — pronounced “baiku tsu waku” which literally means “Bike to Work”. With a rich bicycle culture already in Japan it’s sure to be a big hit in Japan.
Baiku Tsu Waku, or Bike to Work, will be held May 30th to June 5th 2010 in Tokyo, Nagoya, Kanazawa, Akita, Fukuoka and Takamatsu.
